MEET THE TEAM
KAREM GLORIA HADJEZ, ESQ.
Karem began her legal career in 1996 as a Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Adalsinda Lomangino, P.A. and focused on the area of Immigration Litigation. In 1997, she went back to school to complete her education, earning a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. Karem attended St. Thomas University School of Law, achieving academic recognition in multiple semesters.
After completing her Juris Doctor, Karem became a Hearing Officer for the State of Florida’s Unemployment Compensation Unit until 2003. In 2004, Karem was an Associate Attorney for Lataif & Associates, and focused her work on Immigration cases. Shortly after, she began to find that many of her cases encompassed aspects of Family Law, so she expanded her practice area to comprise Family Law.
In 2007, Karem opened the Hadjez Law Firm. In 2008, Karem joined forces with Michaelle Gonzalez Paulson, Esq. (elected to the bench as a member of the judiciary in 2010) and together they created the Law Center of South Florida, P.A.
CYNTHIA ZUÑIGA, ESQ.
Cynthia began her law career in 1995 as a full-time Legal Assistant while attending Florida International University as a full-time student for Roberto Pertierra, Esq. and Alexander Kapetanakis, Esq., civil and criminal trial attorneys. In 1997, after three years of undergraduate studies, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Religious Studies. She continued her academic career at St. Thomas University School of Law in 1998, earning her Juris Doctorate degree.
In 2004, Cynthia started her own practice, Law Office of Cynthia Z. Hernandez, P.A., focused exclusively on family law litigation, providing quality legal services to the community with compassion, specifically the Latino community, helping them make a fresh start.
Over two decades later, Cynthia is now shifting her focus to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases with the intention of continuing to empower her clients with the hope that a fresh start is always possible. She's joined forces with Karem Hadjez, Esq. who shares her passion for serving the community with compassion and dedication and serves as Of Counsel to the Law Center of South Florida, P.A. while maintaining her practice, Law Office of Cynthia Zuñiga, P.A. Her motto is Carpe Punctum, SEIZE THE MOMENT!
